Sam played Leon Small on the BBC soap in 2010 as well as the show’s short-lived E20 spin-off, while Ricky portrayed Arthur ‘Fatboy’ Chubb between 2010 and 2015, before making a brief flashback cameo last year.
Ricky is taking part in the current series of Dancing on Ice, and Sam (who won the 2011 series) stopped by to support his friend this week, sharing a picture with Ricky on Instagram nearly two and a half decades after their last on-screen appearance together.”So great to catch up with @officialrickynorwood at @dancingonice this week,” he wrote. “14 years later and reunited on the ice of all places!! I’ll be there again this Sunday cheering you on, buddy!”
Writing in the comments, Ricky said: “Remember this like it was yesterday bro. Was so good to see you”.Last week, Ricky addressed the possibility of his character returning to Albert Square – despite being killed off years ago.”The thing with EastEnders is that anything can happen. I’ve got a lot of love for EastEnders, I’ve got a lot of friends and family that are still there,” he told Radio Times.
“I call them family because you share a lot there. You really build a strong bond with the people that you work with.”
The star added: “Whether you die onscreen or offscreen, there have been returns.
“[EastEnders] had a year full of great storylines. Christmas was fantastic. So if they ever needed Fatboy back in the Square, all they’ve got to do is give me a call.”
