After hearing Linda Carter’s (Kellie Bright) false confession that denied Dean had raped her, Gina took Dean’s side, and the pair have since agreed to take things slowly in their relationship.
However, in upcoming scenes Dean makes it clear that he wants to go public with their relationship, though Gina fears how her family will react.
Dean remains determined to get his way, and attempts to manipulate Gina into changing her mind, though she refuses to budge from her position.Later, Dean chats to Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) who, unaware of who he is dating, encourages Dean to prove that he is committed to the relationship for the long term.His words inspire Dean to make a big gesture, and soon he has marched into the Queen Vic with a bunch of flowers, declaring his love for Gina.
Understandably, Linda and the Knights are left sickened, and make their disgust of the couple’s relationship clear.
Defensive Gina is quick to bite back, declaring that she isn’t interested in getting their approval before storming out, closely flanked by Dean.However, he is left shocked when furious Gina demands that he leave her alone too.
Meanwhile, Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) soon catches wind of the situation and clearly wants to go in all guns blazing, though George Knight (Colin Salmon) warns her off.
Having calmed down slightly, Gina agrees to hear Dean out, and she is soon convinced to give him another chance, but on their first public outing, Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) gives her food for thought.
